ICM welcomes announcement from Business Minister
Mar 9 2012
Philip King, Chief Executive of the Institute of Credit Management, has welcomed the announcement from Business Minister Mark Prisk calling for a change in the culture of late payments.
“We have been working with Government for some time now to drive change in payment culture and enhance the value of professional credit management,” he says, “both in our engagement with Government initiatives and in practical tools such as the Prompt Payment Code (PPC) and the Managing Cashflow Guides.
“We are looking forward now to engaging still further with the Minister and his team in the workshops, and sharing best practice with the wider business community.”
Latest figures from The Department of Business, Innovation and Skills show that the number of downloads of the ICM-authored Managing Cashflow Guides has reached almost 300,000.
“There is a clear appetite for knowledge and it is important that professional institutions such as the ICM take a lead role in supporting businesses wherever we can,” Philip adds.
